3 - hour Holster Success. Presenting the Pistol Safely & Quickly
Carrying a gun on your person, getting it out of the holster quickly, and safely getting it back in is one of the most important skills for the armed citizen to master. How and where do you carry it safely and comfortably? This skill is critical to ensure that you’re a safe and responsible firearms carrier.
We will teach the best methods for safely and quickly presenting the gun from the holster, and more importantly, putting it safely back in the holster.
If you already have basic training in safely drawing and reholstering, then perhaps take a look at the Defensive Handgun 1 course.
This is a beginner class. Only basic familiarity with firearm safety and your handgun is required. .
Who should attend?
- Handgun novice.
- Someone with little experience with firearms, or drawing from a holster.
- Someone with no formal holster training.
This class offers proven methods of:
- Safely and efficiently drawing a handgun from the holster
- Quickly getting an effective hit on target
- Safely re-holstering the gun
Required Equipment (Loaner equipment available for a small charge):
- Safe and reliable handgun
- Non-collapsing holster (only strong side or in front of hip bones/aiwb)
- One or Two magazines.
- Eye and ear protection. Electronic + foam plugs recommended.
- Brimmed hat
- 25 rounds of ammo
What to wear:
- A sturdy belt.
- A shirt with a high, snug collar
- A baseball cap
- Closed-toe shoes (no sandals)
How to arrive:
*No unsupervised gun handling.*
Please bring your unloaded handgun still in the case or the bag to the range.
If the gun is already in the holster on your body, leave it there, regardless of whether it’s loaded or unloaded. Absolutely no gun handling on the range except at the direction of the instructor.
